Looks like it is going to be a weird slate today. A lot of factors going into this one at the Monster Mile in Dover, Delaware. We have rain to work with, which may make it a shorter race or even part ran today, and part ran on Monday, or all together delayed until Monday. Also, we have the driver highest in salary starting at the back in 22nd place at a track where track position is key. Dominator points or position differential points? Let’s dive in.
Joey Logano – I am looking for a low owned Logano today as most people will pivot towards the position differential by Kyle Busch or last years dominator at Dover Kevin Harvick. He has never won at Dover before and I think today is his best shot. He was inside the top 10 on 10 lap averages also.
Kevin Harvick – So far this looks like one of the best weekends Kevin has had so far to start in 2019. Is today the day he breaks SHR’s winless streak in 2019? I think he can for sure. His car looked really good and stable in practice. I like a Harvick & Logano stack.
Brad Keselowski – Lots of heavy hitters starting towards the front today with the new qualifying format so with little opportunity for position differential it will be important to get your 2 dominators correct. I would not count out Brad Keselowski. What I suspect to be the lowest owned driver in the top tier drivers is usually when owning brad is key. He has had decent speed this weekend, look for the #2 Miller Lite Ford to be inside the top 3 in the closing laps of today’s race.
Denny Hamlin – Another solid pivot play today is Denny Hamlin, he had put together a string of 7 straight top 10’s until his 36th place finish at Talladega. Majority of people will be using Chase Elliott today and with Hamlin as a nice pivot option today.
Kurt Busch – What a start to the season Kurt has had. In 2018, Kurt scored a pair of 5th place finishes in the two Dover races. His weekend has been kind of shaky but the speed his teammate Kyle Larson has shown I assume they talked things over with him overnight and made some changes this morning to help their car. Look for Kurt to be inside the top 10 today, as he has a great opportunity for position differential.
Kyle Larson – At $8,000 on DK and $10,600 on FD I think Larson is pretty much a lock this weekend. We know that he hasn’t been able to put the entire race together but at this price its worth a gamble as he could be a really low priced dominator based on the speed he has shown this weekend.
Ricky Stenhouse Jr – I think this is pretty good pick for the low price, this race is his kind of race where the groove opens up and you have to make your car work. He is coming from the 20th spot with top 10 potential so you get some position differential opportunity there also.
